Silent Starlets

This is a ToughLove MPD look at the roaring 1920's.
In the 1920s, a new woman was born. She smoked, drank, danced, and voted.
She cut her hair, wore make-up, and went to petting parties. She was giddy and took risks.
I gave each model a character to embody that I felt some what represented these woman.
Nicole the sociallite, Amanda the flapper, and Nia the strong androgynous.

Gypsy Rose Lee

This is Emily. She and I met through her Boyfriend (my little brother) and I instantly knew she had modeling potential and she looked like a killer canvas. Turns out I was right. We have been trying to put together a makeover of sorts for a month or so now and finally got to put this little project together.
The Makeover included:
  • Hair color
  • Hair cut
  • Eyebrow shaping

This is our Emily before the makeover. Cute as a button.

Let Them Eat Cake

A 3 theme photo shoot, with 3 photographers, and 3 different models, that had been planned for months slowly became a one model, one photographer, and one theme shoot. We made the best of it.

Here is my Marie Antoinette photo shoot theme. The only one that survived that day.

The Frog Socks Had to Go

I have been trying to put together a wedding album for my brides to go through so they can pick out makeup looks for their wedding. I was having Marley over so we could lighten her hair again and I could do one of my bridal looks on her. After I had finished doing her hair I couldn't do a bridal look because I was inspired to put something else together instead. I went to my closet and tried out a few dresses but the only thing I could think of was this ZacPosen for Target photo I had seen earlier that day.

Here is Marley with her new do' and my random brainchild.

Mind you this shoot was done in the hallway of my apartment building and the laundry room in the building next door.

This is the photo that inspired me. I want this dress.

The TL Initiation

Before I bring models into the TL world I like to test them out with a one-on-one session before hand, so they can get the feel for what we do and I can see what they can do.

Often times I see people and I just can't get them out of my head untill thay model for me. Amanda is Deifinitely one of those people. I have been waiting forever to do her makeup and get her into the studio. Finally the day had come! I grabbed some cute outfits and picked out a makeup scheme then had her meet me at the WCC studio.
